Software: DesignRoute™ Vertical and Horizontal

DesignRoute™ Vertical and Horizontal is a visual package for undertaking fast calculations for track design.

DesignRoute™ Horizontal and Vertical is used in the following applications:

• Automatically updated viewer for lift/lower
• Automatic updated viewer for slue and cant and check against design limit
• Parameter listing for each curve, straight, transition
• Automatic checking against design limits and constraints
• Uses normal, exceptional and user defined values
• Ability to recant or retain existing cants
• Graphical/numerical output
• Outputs existing versine design and slue at each survey point
• Outputs existing cant, design cant, cant deficiency and equilibrium cant at each point
• Outputs of 6’ offsets for multiple rail design
• Data may be taken from a variety of sources, such as optical levels and Hallade surveys

DesignRoute™ Vertical generates vertical curves based on vertical acceleration, speed and gradient change. Long section vertical design is performed using intersection point methods, whilst existing vertical geometry is rationalised into gradients and vertical curves joined by intersection points.

DesignRoute™ Horizontal designs are performed by detecting changes of radius, fitting constant curves and transitions.
